May 1st, known as Labour Day or International Workers' Day, is celebrated worldwide to honor the contributions of workers and the labor movement. In India, the first Labour Day was observed in 1923 in Chennai, led by Comrade Singaravelar, who advocated for it to be recognized as a national holiday.
